Our Workshops

What we offer

We love creating playful experiences that enable positive change, and believe everyone deserves access to a range of fun art and craft opportunities in their community.

Each one of the following workshop options can be offered as a two to four weeks course, or as part of a one off bespoke event.

Mixed Media & Collage:

Mixed media art provides an awesome opportunity for participants of all skill levels to experiment with lots of different materials. Collage, painting  and drawing just to name a few.

Collages really fuel creativity and imagination, as they can be about anything. Participants learn the art of using torn and cut paper to create artworks using found images together with colour blocks and patterned paper.

Decoupage:

This upcycling technique can be used on small items such as trays, boxes, picture frames, plant pots and even shoes! It is also extremely effective on furniture, so we propose offering a series of workshops where participants choose whether to learn the technique on something small in a single session and then continue at home, or tackle a piece of furniture across several sessions. Participants can bring their own objects to upcycle or choose from a range of suitable items that will be supplied (excluding furniture).

Decoupage on glass:

This unusual technique offers a different take on decoupage and can be used to create unique plates, tea-light holders and coasters. All materials will be supplied.

Paper Crafts:

Discover the joy of paper crafts and learn how to create beautiful paper flowers, pom-poms, origami, kusudama and rolled paper art projects.

Printmaking:

Printmaking is the art of transferring colour and repeated patterns to create pictures and home accessories. Using simple techniques for striking results, this workshop is perfect for complete beginners.

Benefits of art-based learning:

Even a single session of creativity brings positive emotional change but of course there are cumulative benefits from regular engagement:

Mindfulness

Engagement in the visual arts, specially through creating, provides opportunities to cultivate mindfulness.

Stress relief

Hands-on making can be very relaxing and calming.

Self-esteem and confidence

Art activities enhance social skills leading to better self-esteem.

Mind Space

The mind space to reassess problems in our lives, think creatively and make plans.

Connectivity

Increased connectivity and plasticity in the brain.

"In a world of screens, the power to make by hand should be celebrated"
